Our research centres

The School of Biosciences' research centres run focused research and teaching.

The Centre for Ecology and Conservation, based at the Cornwall Campus, focuses on research and teaching in whole-organism biology, including behaviour, ecology, conservation and evolution. Our academics at the Centre run the School's Cornwall Campus-based undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.

The Exeter Biocatalysis Centre was established to study the structure, mechanism and commercial application of enzymes.

The Centre for Bioinformatics runs the Masters in Bioinformatics, plus research in bioinformatics, which has become a major field of academic research and an important focus for industry, particularly in the post-genomic era.
