Grace McNicholas
Laboratory Technician

I am a full time Laboratory Technician in the Environment and Sustainability Institute assisting the Laboratory Manager with the day-to-day running of the research labs. My role involves coordinating the daily running of the autoclave room, equipment maintenance, overseeing laboratory protocols and ensuring the laboratory is maintained as a safe-working environment.

I also assist two research groups, working in both SERSF and the ESI CT Rooms. My work with these groups can vary from cleaning to research, and anything in between which may support each group.

Broad research specialisms:

I have a broad interest in marine conservation and animal life histories, as well as outreach and education. Although my previous research projects have been mostly field based, I am enjoying turning my hand to the lab and gaining a more varied skill set.
