Research Technician (Controlled Plant Growth Facilities)
Geoffrey Pope Building, University of Exeter , Stocker Road, Exeter, EX4 4QD, UK
I worked self-employed for several years after completing a carpentry apprenticeship. I then became interested in horticulture so I completed a certificate in horticulture with the Royal Horticultural Society, before studying for a degree in plant sciences as a mature student. I have worked within the horticulture industry both for companies and as a partner in a gardening business.
My role here is to oversee the running of the grow rooms and to assist in the propagation and maintenance of the plants used for research. This will involve using an Integrated Pest Management strategy, using biological pest controls where possible.
2013 - BSc Hons. (First Class) Applied Biosciences (Plant Sciences).
2012 - FdSc Horticulture (Distinction)
