Project Description:
To gain further understanding of senescence in wild populations, I am researching the field cricket (Gryllus campestris). Working on the Wild Cricket Project ( I am able to study almost every aspect of every cricket throughout its entire life, from eclosion to death and even cause of mortality. Through collecting and analyzing data from the extensive video footage, I will be looking to see whether there are declines in performance over lifetime, something that has been poorly studied in wild populations of insects.

Previous research projects:

During my undergraduate research project I studied the ecologically induced differences of sheltering behaviour the green shore crab (Carcinus maenas).
