Overview

My overarching aim is to investigate how processes at the individual level (e.g. energy and nutrient flux, fecundity) can constrain and predict processes at higher level of biological organisation (e.g. population growth and reproduction, community biomass, the shape of ecosystem pyramids). For that I combine maths, stats and computational tools to integrate evolutionary ecology across scales. I test theoretical questions with a combination of experiments, field data collection, and data mining. I strive to use this theory-driven, fundamental science to inform decision-making processes and ecosystem management in an ever-changing world.

Transparent and reproducible open science are at the core of my daily working routine, and I mostly use the R programming environment to code my projects. I am a programming instructor trained by The Carpentries, and as such I organise my data, and maintain my projects under version control following standard practice.
