I am a post-doc working on the UKRI funded project “Reducing Plastic Waste in the Galapagos and Eastern Pacific”. Specifically, I have been collecting information on the levels of plastic contamination in that region, to try to address some of the knowledge gaps in the field and propose solutions to mitigate this issue in the future.
In the past years, I have been completing my PhD at The University of Queensland and the University of Exeter. I have been trying to assess plastic contamination in marine organisms intended for human consumption, by developing more accurate and simplified techniques of detection.
PhD Environmental Toxicology – QUEX institute - a joint initiative of The University of Queensland and the University of Exeter – in completion
MSc Marine Biology – University of Algarve (Portugal) (2014-2016)
BSc Aquatic Sciences – University of Porto (Portugal) (2011-2014)
