I am a postdoctoral research associate in marine zooplankton ecology working for the EU OceanICU programme. I am analysing a zooplankton community dataset spanning almost 30 years collected as part of the Altantic Meridional Transect (AMT) cruises throughout the Atlantic Ocean (50°S-50°N). I am interested in exploring if/how environmental changes over the sampling period has influenced zooplankton community composition, abundance, functional traits and size spectra. I am part of the OceanPlankton team, led by Prof. Dan Mayor.
My expertise is in zooplankton trophic/physiological ecology and biogeochemistry in the ocean's twilight zone. My research spans stable isotopes, fatty acids and lipid biomarkers, plankton imaging platforms, and size spectrum theory. I have extensive sea-going experience having participated in 4 interdisciplinary and multi-institutional open-ocean research expeditions during my PhD studies, giving me strong working knowledge of zooplankton and oceanographic sampling techniques.
