I am a part-time PhD student in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, investigating the ecological and biogeographical distribution and processes of small mammals on island environments. My research particularly focuses on advancing novel acoustic surveying methodologies to better understand species' patterns and habitat use in insular ecosystems.

Alongside my doctoral studies, I work as an Ecologist at Sangan Island Conservation Limited, providing specialist consultancy services in land management, biodiversity monitoring, ecological surveying, and habitat restoration across the Channel Islands. My role involves leading a wide range of projects — from delivering impact assessments for sensitive species and habitats, to designing and implementing long-term monitoring programmes — ensuring that conservation strategies are grounded in robust ecological data. This work has equipped me with a diverse skill set in field ecology, environmental legislation, spatial and ecological data analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

In addition, I serve as the Research Officer for the Jersey Bat Group, coordinating a variety of research initiatives. These include the citizen science-driven East-West long-term monitoring project, the woodland bat box monitoring scheme, and the newly launched Bats and Offshore Reefs Project — a collaborative effort with the Société Jersiaise and Jersey Marine Conservation to investigate bat activity and migratory movements across offshore reefs. Through these roles, I am committed to bridging academic research with practical conservation outcomes and fostering community involvement in biodiversity monitoring.
