Ka Kiu Lee

About me:

I am a PhD student at the University of Exeter Living Systems Institute funded via a studentship from the Complex Living Systems PhD programme. My research focus is on establishing the molecular mechanisms underlying heterogeneous antimicrobial accumulation in bacteria. I employ a range of interdisciplinary techniques including microfluidics, flow cytometry, and omics in my research. Before joining the Living Systems Institute, I graduated with a BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences with Professional Placement degree from the University of Exeter and was a recipient of the Royal Society of Biology Top Student Award 2020. As part of my undergraduate degree, I carried out a 12-month research placement at the Shell Technology Center Houston BioDomain working on the microbial production of industrially relevant products.
