I am a marine ecologist whose research focuses on applying deep learning and computer vision to biodiversity monitoring. I am interested in reducing the analytical bottlenecks in video- and audio-based ecological research, and in building accessible tools that allow non-specialists to use AI methods in their own work.

After completing my BSc in Biosciences at the University of Exeter, I copmleted an MSc by Research in Dr Witt and Dr Hawkes' lab, developing automated pipelines for analysing baited remote underwater video (BRUV) and creating AnimalTrackR, an R package for tracking animals in laboratory experiments. I now work as a Graduate Research Associate at Exeter on several projects spanning marine monitoring buoys, offshore wind farm surveys, and interactive tools for coastal health data.
