The University of British Columbia

Activities between the University of British Columbia and Exeter include a joint research symposium focused on Community, Culture, Creativity, and Wellbeing held at Exeter in May 2018 and a faculty-led, co-funded initiatives in Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, Climate Change and Digital Humanities.

IIT Delhi

Exeter and IIT Delhi combine expertise to work on issues of major importance to the UK and India; this includes enhancing sport capacity, working towards a greener future via clean energy and environment projects, and developing operations research.

Tsinghua University

The University of Exeter and Tsinghua University have launched a jointly-awarded PhD degree programme in climate and environmental sciences which supports six students to be co-supervised between Tsinghua's Department of Earth System Science and Colleges at Exeter that conduct research on earth systems and environmental sciences. About me:

I am originally from Beijing, China. I did my PhD in Infection Biology at Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research at UCD under supervision of Prof. Geraldine Butler to investigate novel antifungal agents against Candida species. After finishing my PhD, I moved to Belgium in early 2019, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Functional Biology Lab at KU Leuven to decipher the importance of vacuole-mitochondria communication in the yeast models for Parkinson’s disease. I joined the lab of Prof. Alistair Brown in February 2020 as a postdoctoral research fellow to study the molecular mechanisms that mediates Candida albicans adaption to host niches.

Interests:

I am interested in studying how the pathogen Candida albicans causes deadly infections in humans, with particular focus on the adaption to different environmental stresses of this fungus within the host.
