Salomé LeibundGut-Landmann is a Professor of Immunology at the University of Exeter since 2024. Salomé’s research programme focuses on immunosurveillance mechanisms that regulate fungal commensalism in barrier tissues. At the University of Exeter, she will explore how normally harmless fungi of the skin can become pathogenic and contribute to eczema, an allergic skin condition that affects up to every 5th-10th individual. Her work aims to uncover new diagnostic or therapeutic biomarkers to be harnessed for better patient care in the future.
