Dr Sally Rogers

About me:

I am a Senior Lecturer in Molecular and Cellular Biology in the Biosciences department. I have extensive experience of teaching a wide range of topics across different levels, and I am a Fellow of the HEA. I have worked in Research Institutes and Universities in the UK and Canada, and have published numerous articles in the field of cell signalling.

I am the module convenor for BIO1334 Genetics, and teach on a number of Biosciences modules at all stages. I am currently the Director of Education and Student Experience (DESE) for Biosciences, with responsibility for the following programmes BSc/MSci Biological Sciences, BSc/MSci Biochemistry, BSc/MSci Biological and Medicinal Chemistry, MSc Advanced Biological Sciences, MRes Advanced Biological Sciences, MSc Immunology, PG-Dip/PG-Cert/MSc Medical Mycology (online) and MSc Island Biodiversity and Conservation (JICAS). 

Research Interests:

My research has covered many aspects of molecular and cellular biology, from evolution of the immune system to regulation of gene expression post bone marrow transplant and signalling in gastric cancer. The common theme has been the structure and function of cell signalling receptors. I have worked in research institutes in both the UK and Canada, using a wide range of molecular, cell culture and imaging techniques.
