I am a PhD student in the LSI (in collaboration with the British Antarctic Survey) specialising in environmental DNA (eDNA) approaches for detecting and monitoring marine vertebrates in open-ocean systems. My research focuses on how eDNA can enhance conservation efforts in remote and understudied ecosystems, revealing otherwise ‘hidden’ biodiversity. I am particularly interested in developing methods that push eDNA beyond species cataloguing and towards high-resolution community-level insights, enabling more powerful ecological interpretation and management applications.
