Project Title: From proteins to processes: an integrated analysis of mitotic spindle function

Supervisors: Dr James Wakefield Professor Christian Soeller

Using the model organism Drosophila melanogaster we want to understand the morphogenesis of the spindle apparatus. My project focuses on augmin, a protein complex that appears to augment the number of microtubules in the spindle. We are using a multidisciplinary approach to elucidate its structure and function.
