Overview

I am a joint Ph.D. student based at the University of Exeter and Lanzhou University.

Before I came to the University of Exeter, I finished a work that investigated the effect of grazing exclusion on the pollination network structures and pollination function of degraded meadows in the Tibetan Plateau. Currently, I am trying to investigate the impacts of meadow types transformation caused by climate change and anthropogenic activities on both above- and below-ground ecological networks (i.e., pollination network and microbial co-occurrence network) and ecosystem multifunctionality in the Tibetan Plateau.

Research interests

My research interests include plant-pollinator interactions, plant reproductive ecology, ecological network, and community ecology.

Research projects

Project title: The relationship between above- and below-ground ecological networks during meadow types transition and their associations with ecosystem functions

Supervisors: Dr Christoper Kaiser-Bunbury and Dr Zhigang Zhao

Description: The goal of this project is to find out whether and how the above- and below-ground ecological networks (i.e. pollination network and microbial co-occurrence network respectively) respond to the transition from swampy meadows to typical alpine meadows and from alpine meadows to degraded meadows in the Tibetan Plateau. We also aim to study the role of ecological network structures in determining network stability as well as ecosystem functions. Understanding how above- and below-ground ecological networks stability and multiple ecosystem functions change simultaneously when facing environmental changes would guiding us when developing conservation and restoration projects.
