Overview
I am a Portuguese scientist from Lisboa. I work with marine conservation and research for 10 years including field assistant, researcher, volunteer coordinator, project manager, etc.I work mostly with sea turtle conservation/research projects, UAV's / drones and photogrammetry. I have worked both on nesting and in-water biology of sea turtles, with different species: hawksbills, green turtles and leatherbacks; at Puerto Rico mainland, Culebra Island, Mona Island, Cyprus, Principe Island, Ascension Island, Abu Dhabi and Brazil.
Most recently I've become more involved in the use of drones for conservation using photogrammetry, thermal cameras and RTK alternative GPSs.
Research
External Engagement and Impact
Apart from conservation I also work as a senior Digital Marketing consultant specialized in SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and Google Adwords. Recently I got very interested in Google Grants as a way to connect digital marketing with conservation and environment protection.
In 2016 I opened an SEO Agency in Portugal called Unik-SEO which I manage in parallel with conservation projects.
Besides managing Google Grants Pro Bono for NGO's and conservation projects, next year we plan to apply search engine optimisation so several conservation projects in need of visibility as well.
You can find more information about our SEO Agency here: https://www.unik-seo.com/seo-agency
