Research interests

Broad research specialisms:  Ecotoxicology, microfluidics.

Research projects

Project Title:  Investigating the uptake and bioavailability of antibiotics and their toxic effects in the environment and looking for ways to apply microfluidics to these problems.

Supervisors:  Prof. Charles Tyler and Dr. Stefano Pagliara

Funding Body:  AstraZeneca and CLES

Project Description:  My project consists of research into several organisms, ranging from bacteria to human cells, that are relevant to the study of ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment.  My aim is to research ways that microfluidic technologies can be used to learn more about how drugs are taken up by organisms as well as the bioavailability of these drugs in the wider environment.
