Description - summary of the module content

Module description

In this module you will spend a week embedded in the research laboratory with one of our Experimental Officers getting first-hand experience in key research skills for biological sciences.  We will train you in techniques that are used in our world-leading research laboratories which will build on and enhance your existing laboratory skills and prepare you for your research project. Your training will be bespoke and determined by your research interests. Examples of techniques that you will learn include: next and 3rd generation sequencing, mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, cellular imaging, plant culture, tissue culture, insect culture and aquatic culture and maintenance techniques.
