ARC – LEAF Silver Award 2024
Celebrating ongoing success in sustainability
The ARC team are pleased to be awarded the LEAF Silver Award in 2024 which recognises our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
Ongoing best practice from our 2021 awards include
- our reuseable shoe covers
- more recycling points
- reusing consumables (whenever possible)
Recent additions in place for the 2024 award
- comprehensive audit and update of IT and research quality ( implementing the use of PowerApps and SharePoint, set up by Paul Tyson) enabling real time
- critical data to be backed up and shared between staff and users at ease including logging daily checks which are legal requirements
- sharing of negative and positive data between staff, users and different groups.
Aquatic Facility Manager Greg Paull commented “This is a wonderful example of the high level of commitment across the ARC team to sustainability. The innovative and creative approach to operational improvements reflects this. The ARC team will continue these practises and collaborate with technicians and researchers to develop and implement new techniques as they move to the gold award. Kudos to all involved especially Amy Cotton who led the initiative.”
